In the ongoing investigation into the murder of Prathima K S, a senior geologist with the Department of Mines and Geology in Bengaluru, there have been significant developments. On Monday, the police took a crucial step forward by arresting Prathima’s former car driver, a man named Kiran, in connection with the case.
Kiran, who had previously been employed as Prathima’s car driver, had been missing since the incident came to light. It was revealed that the Department of Mines and Geology had recently relieved Kiran from his duties and replaced him with another driver. Following the discovery of Prathima’s lifeless body at her residence in Doddakallasandra, located within the Subramanyapura police jurisdiction, investigations have been ongoing.
According to a senior police officer involved in the case, the circumstances surrounding Prathima’s murder are deeply unsettling. The preliminary findings indicate that she was murdered inside her own room, a place where one would expect to be safe and secure. The modus operandi of the crime involved a two-step process; Prathima was initially strangled and subsequently had her throat slit. Authorities are currently awaiting the results of the post-mortem report, which may shed further light on the nature of the crime.
What’s particularly perplexing in this case is that there were no signs of forced entry into Prathima’s home, and no valuables or belongings appeared to be missing. This strongly suggests that the perpetrator was someone known to the victim, as they gained access to her residence without leaving any evidence of a break-in. The investigation is now focused on uncovering the motive behind this heinous act and identifying the individuals responsible for this tragic incident.
