In a tragic incident in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama, a non-local laborer named Mukesh, originally from Uttar Pradesh, was shot by terrorists and subsequently succumbed to his injuries, as confirmed by the J&K Police on Monday. The area has been cordoned off, and security measures have been significantly heightened in the region, in response to this unfortunate event.
This incident occurred just a day after a brazen attack on an off-duty J&K police officer, Masroor Ahmad Wani, who was enjoying a game of cricket at the Eidgah playground. While he was off-duty, a Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist targeted him on the cricket field. The terrorist fired three shots at close range, targeting Wani’s eye, abdomen, and neck. The off-duty cop was rushed into surgery and remains in critical condition as a result of the injuries sustained in the attack.
These incidents underscore the persisting security challenges faced in the region, highlighting the need for continued vigilance and efforts to maintain peace and safety in Jammu and Kashmir.
