Adani Electricity Unveils Sophisticated Power Theft Scheme in Mira-Bhayandar, Maharashtra, Leading to Losses Worth ₹29.60 Lakh. The company recently announced the discovery of a highly unusual power theft technique in the Mira-Bhayandar region, where perpetrators manipulated the meter speed, resulting in a substantial slowdown of 70%-75%. This deceptive tactic allowed the miscreants to steal approximately 1.70 lakh units of electricity during 43 separate incidents that occurred between the months of April and October. As a response to this illicit activity, Adani Electricity has taken decisive action, filing a total of nine First Information Reports (FIRs) across various police stations, including those at Navghar, Bhayandar, Kashimira, and Nayanagar. Emphasizing the seriousness of the offense, the company reiterated that power theft is a non-bailable offense, indicating a firm commitment to combat such illicit practices within the region.
