NEW DELHI: Morbi, Gujarat, has emerged victorious in the DWPS Season 1 Cricket Tournament, defeating Noida Extension by 7 wickets with time to spare. Taksh shone brightly, earning the Player of the Match title for his stellar performance, scoring 88 runs off just 54 balls.

Ansh Bhakar was named Man of the Series, while Jayveer Zala received the Best Bowler award. The Best Batsman honor went to Vansh Kapoor, and Emerging Player awards were presented to Krishna Bhoraniya and Jill Kanani.

Coach Dr. Sadat Ali Khan reflected on the initial skepticism about his team’s youth, sharing how some schools labeled them as “small kids.” Despite the doubts, they proved their worth by clinching the championship title.

The runner-up, Noida Extension, put up a commendable fight throughout the tournament. The closing ceremony featured former Foreign Affairs Minister Mr. Salman Khurshid as the chief guest, who presented the trophy to the Morbi team. The event was also attended by DWPS Noida Extension Principal Mrs Jyoti Arora and Greater Noida Principal Mrs Heema Sharma, alongside DWF Secretary Dr. Fareed Chughtai and Mr. JJ Walter, Director ERC, DWF.
